It might be a damn fine sammich, but if you are IN Miami and your into is Philly and NY original sandwiches, then show off a great original Cuban sandwich!!! Kinda wanted to send Dexter Morgan and his sharp, sharp scalpels over to Adam for some retribution.

I couldn't really watch of it. All the cheesiness from the Nathan's Hot Dog Challenge guy and the lame bits were too much for me.
I wouldn't have watched if I hadn't DVR'ed it. Lots of fast forwarding for me.

The new "Best Of" episode that aired Tuesday was far more entertaining than last night's live show...

Correct, the "Best Of" was much more interesting. I was fairly surprised how brutally uninteresting and slow the live show turned out to be. I wanted to sock the awful announcer.

So I finally broke down and went to El Tepeyac to complete the trio of Los Angeles Man vs Food restaurants.

I went with the Hollenbeck burrito. Sorry, I don't see what the fuss is about. It's massive, but it better be if you're charging about $10 for a burrito. The pork in the chile "verde" was pretty tender. It tasted ok, but certainly not the best burrito I've ever had.

FWIW, the Hollenbeck from El Tepeyac even showed up the latest LA Weekly. Pick up an issue, because it's showcases the 99 things to eat in LA before you die by Jonathan Gold and staff. Very cool list and, despite my opinion of the Hollenbeck, I can at least cross one more item off of that LA Weekly list.

edit: here's the link if you want to check out the LA Weekly article online:

the chile verde burrito in the colorado episode is much better.

we'll be in Denver March 23-25 if anyone wants to meet up.
we're sitting in 118 for the Avs game.

For a more fair evaluation we ate the Hollenbeck from El Tepeyac the day we left for colorado.
Just like I remembered, the Chile Verde at Jack N Grill is a million times better possibly 1.5 million.

But we did sit next to Edward James Olmos at El Tepeyac.

And something is very wrong with Jack N Grills claim that that burrito weighs 7lbs.
After Deaderhead ate about 30% of it and I gave up at close to 40% I smelled a rat.
Not a real rat mind you, but I had the waitress bring a scale to the table to find out the truth... and Deader's burrito still weighed about 7lbs.

The burrito tastes amazing like everything else they serve, but if you are heading there in hopes of earning yourself a t-shirt you will need a bottomless pit and Jesus on your side.
