I always liked Sloppy Joe's over Manwich. Then again, I wasn't too picky, something had to be really vile for me not to eat it.
it just made me think of my parents' neurosis. they actually fed me pretty good food when i was a kid... sometimes, too good, not realizing that little kids often prefer blander, simpler foods to ethnic stuff. so they got pissed at me for being picky pretty often. it was this endless cycle of them making sacrifices to feed me what they considered good quality food only to have me say "yuck" a lot of the time. anyway, i was just remembering that and then maybe explaining why this lady was that way, but who knows. she probably was a nut.
i've never actually had a sloppy joe. they used to serve it at the school cafeteria but my mom rarely let me buy from their menu and when i did get to, i always went for the turkey and mashed potatoes and a few other things.
fried bologna... that sounds pretty gross. i never liked bologna un-fried though.
oh and i've never had hamburger helper either.
My elementary school used to make sloppy Joe's for lunch.
They should had been called sloppy John's since I used to spend the rest of the lunch period in the bathroom.
I don't know what they put in them, but that pretty much set me off from sloppy Joe's.
Only by living absurdly is it possible to break out of this infinite absurdity.
yUp Manwich/sloppy joes are the bomb. Very good w/ground turkey...will have to try them with blue kamikazes though.
And yeah, we grew up with fried bologna sandwiches too. Good on a toasted bagel with guldens mustard.
You women are using ground turkey for sloppy joes????
