i've made homemade beef stroganoff. gosh that reminds me, it's been a while. i should make it again. my husband digs it. that's another thing my mom never made... i was lucky she made me macaroni and cheese and spaghetti, but i don't think that was until i was older and over my picky eater phase...

When I was in elementary school, they served sloppy joes every 3 weeks or so. Good gawd, were they awful, I just ate the bun and tossed the rest. Nothing like low grade USDA crap meat, no flavor and dry as hell.

Elementary schools lunches suck. They serve malk.

One of the things we used to have when I was growing up and haven't had in years since then for whatever reason. We've had it a couple of times in the past year or so since we started making it again. It's good to have every once in a while.

I think i've only had Manwich a couple of times in my life. I remember having sloppy joes in the lunchroom though.

Speaking of pre-processed meats, there was a flat rectangular roast beef slices thing that I used to love as a kid but forget the name of.

this? chipped beef made with these is another thing we had all the time as a kid that I haven't had in 15 years.

No, they were pre-cooked flat rectangular shaped slices that came frozen and you fried them up quickly to reheat.
