Default McDonalds Third Pound Angus burger

I usually don't eat at McDonald's too much but I actually have a craving for this new Third Pound Angus burger with swiss cheese and mushrooms. I got one free when our section was picked during a game awhile back and since I had that one I have gone back for a few more!

It comes on a soft bun and the cheese is actually real cheese plus the mushroom is actually pretty tasty. The real surprise is that the meat actually tastes like meat instead of cereal like some other burgers. (wink wink)

The power of free samples at work!

as good as you think that thing is the Portabello Mushroom Six Dollar Burger at Carl's Jr. is about 10 times better.

If you have a free coupon go to McDonalds if you are paying for it do yourself a favor and to to Carl's Jr.

I tried a 1/3 pound Angus Burger when they were testing them in SoCal McDonalds last year - it was nothing special. I haven't had one since.

Now the $6 dollar burger, on the other hand, is good stuff! I agree with OP on this. I don't eat fast food too much anymore though.

Had the Mushroom Swiss one once...nd never again. It gave me the runny butt. Meat was nasty and not even like a real patty

$6 Burger is okay...I like the Western version

I personally prefer the Angus at McDonalds over the Six Dollar Burger at Carl's Jr.

Then again, I just don't like the bread at Carl's Jr... that could be why.

As for the Angus at McDonalds, I would normally get the Bacon and Cheese one over the Mushroom and Swiss. If I had to pick though, just go Sirloin at Jack in the Box. That is one of the better ones if we're talking big name fast-food chains.

Since Carls came out with the $6 burger, I have been partaking in them once a month. I live two blocks from a CJ, but at my age, you can only eat those things ever once in awhile.

The Jalapeno and Bacon Guac versions are my favorite. It would take a lot (like a free coupon) for me to go to Mcd's for a burger.
