Daxx lost any beer cred bragging on Bud Light. Drank Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA tonight at Big Fish & Ice Cold Beer in Laguna. Love that stuff.

Been drinking Hoptimum lately as well. Ladyface in Agoura has had it on tap recently and I was able to get a case on special order from Total Wine in Thousand Oaks about a month ago. I went in yesterday and they had 17 cases. Good stuff...

There are a lot of IPAs I just love, but I probably lean more toward stouts. I've also developed a real taste for sours. But I will say, thanks to Beerman, I tasted a little bit of "Hop Heaven" today. Damn, that Citra is one fine beer.

I'll sign a 10 year extension, to just drink beer. IPAs, Stouts, Sours, Belgian, and even lagers if they are worthy (Yuengling).

"Divine" might have been a little over the top, because I was a bit buzzed when the statement was made, but I a Hoegarden would have gone nicely (so I was being a cheap*** when I bought the beers...). I will agree that there is a time and place for an IPA, just like any other beer.

I signed no such agreement that I would adhere to the IPA contract, so I'm free to consume whatever piss-water or magnificent bottle conditioned ale I choose.

Mix Wheat Ale with an IPA ... you get a Wheat IPA... had it this weekend at the local brewpub and was great.

POCKET FULL 'O GREEN - 7.6% ABV
A twist on an American I.P.A., this completely unfiltered beer is still brewed with copious amounts of hops but mixes up the act by incorporating 30% wheat malt. Adding a slightly softer mouthfeel and a fuller body, the wheat malt and the interplay of five different hop varietals makes this a pleasure to sip.

It was bitter like an IPA but has a softer aftertaste. As you can see from the ABV it was pretty boozy. Also not as clear as an IPA or other pale ales. High lacing. Smelled classically like a pine forest and grapefruit.

Looking around the internet to see if there are others like this sold in bottles and only found a few. Beer advocate categorizes it with American Pale Wheat Ale (APWA). All other APWAs on Beer Advocate are lower ABV, around 5%.

Lagunitas Brewing Company has one called "A Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale", 7.5% ABV and 50% wheat malt. Gotta find that one.

A Little Sumpin' Sumpin' is awesome stuff.

I have a Little Sumpin Sumpin in my fridge right now, its pretty good

Since this is now the unofficial official IPA thread: One of my friends went up to the kern river this weekend and brought me back 4 growlers of JO, and one of Class V stout. Im a happy camper
