if you're facing the cashier, to your left. it's in a big metal trough. or just ask the cashier. normally, when we go, it's at the end of the day during the beginning of a holiday weekend so there are a lot of customers and very little (or no) potatoes left. the last time we went was sunday of labor day weekend and i grabbed 2 potatoes and ended up having baked potatoes with our barbequed tri tip. delicious...
Beef Palace run today! Got 2 lbs brisket, enormous rack of beef ribs, rack of babybacks, 1 lbs pecan/applewood smoked. Giant spuds.
Anyone ever try their beef jerky? I got some of the BBQ and a little of the spicey teryaki. Good stuff! Maybe not as off the charts great as the Biltong and Droewors at Deluxe Sausage in Beverly Hills- but it's good!
I'm a big fan of the meat section of Bristol Farms in Manhattan Beach. They are running a surf & turf special this weekend with NY strip and lobsters at 50% off.

Trying to Pecan Smoked Bacon today.
We have been trying to go there more often, seeing as how it is down the street. We are having pork chops more often now than at any other time in 20 years. The regular pork chops are amazing, so much better than the grocery store chops. There is a lot of real pork flavor with these. The first time I asked for pork chop, they did give me a sample of their premium pork chops (sample = one free chop), and HOLY CRAP!!!! At 2x the price ($9.98/lb.) they are not for every day consumption, but I am getting these soon as a treat as the premium chops are divine.
As hip said, the chicken here is amazing ($1.98/lb) and I can't add to it.
