My Hallucination: End of the Burger and Brew Special at the Mixing Room :-(
The Mixing Room appears to have ended this good deal by claiming it never existed. Now I'm worried the last 2 years have been a hallucination.
We stopped in after the Kings glorious victory over the Cryotes last night (10/24) to enjoy their "Burger and Brew" special and listen to Nick and Daryl on the postgame show. The waitress told us we aren't doing that this season. Perhaps she could explain, I asked her, how it was that we had the special just two weeks before following the Kings vs. Rangers game? She sends over a manager who then tells us that not only are they not doing that this season, but that they have NEVER had that special after Kings games. But that they used to have that special before games at Staples, but discontinued it last season.
I told her we had it about 2 weeks ago as well as about 15 times other times in the previous year. I also tell her I learned of the special on a radio ad on the Kings post game show (which is broadcast from the bar) as an inducement to get Kings fans to come in to the bar. She repeats we have never offered that special after Kings games.
Oh well, the service always sucked, and the other drinks were overpriced (the wife loves the expensive ones). It's too bad, as it was a nice place to hang with Kings fans and hear some of the postgame show before heading home.
Or, maybe I've been hallucinating. After all, I could have sworn Dwight King had a hat trick last night. Someone please confirm we won the Cup.
So maybe I need a new postgame spot. Any suggestions?

Total hallucination. Mr. Evans and Mr. Nickson have NEVER done a show from there.
I also didn't enjoy that same special after not seeing it advertised during the game I didn't go to.
At least in this world, Cloutier was never a King and Gabby, Michelle and Cole are still Ice Girls.
And the Fox Sports Bar never existed either.
I would have taken the managers name and called the next day.

So quick update. I wrote a letter to the food and beverage director at the Marriott. He referred me to the manager of the Mixing Room who wrote me a very sincere apology and asked if my wife and I would come in and be their guest after a game. We did that a couple of weeks back and the service was amazing-we literally had a manager serving us despite the place being packed the night before the AMA's. Oh, and they still have the Burger and Brew Post Game Special. I think the manager I spoke with the first time was hallucinating.
