Going to be visiting Rohnert Park/Penngrove area in May to see some family. Already planned a trip to Lagunitas Brewery based on Arrogant Bastards recommendation. Any other good places to go to by there?

I don't know if you/they are into wine, but here are my favorite wineries in the area:

    Best chardonnay I've ever tasted.

They have *white* port! They also used to sell grapeseed oil, which is great for cooking. Not sure if they still do or not.

You can tour the caves where the wine is stored and aged.

They make some of my favorite brews. I would loved to hit up that place.

    San Jose
There is nothing good that comes out of this place. Exactly one year until I take my license and run far far away from this man infested city!
Actually my brother lives up there and when we visit we have to go to Holder's Country Inn for breakfast. Great omelettes that are big and fluffy, and awesome swedish pancakes served on the side of most breakfasts.

There are several locations, but we go to the one off Saratoga.

Hobee's is pretty good - several locations around the south bay. Yummy coffee cake.

Wow, I looked it up. Michele's. All the recent online reviews are horrid. I haven't been there since about 1999 so maybe it's gone downhill since.

Not into wine myself. My wife is so it might be a good tradeoff for me going to Lagunitas.

That's actually a good system... go to a brewery and she can be designated driver, go to a winery and you drive.
