There's a Taco Bell by my house. You should check it out.
We are going college touring in a week to Santa Cruz, Rhonert Park (near Santa Rosa) and Davis. Any suggestions for hotels and restaurants in those areas would be greatly appreciated.
While in Santa Cruz, stop at Gayle's bakery in Capitola.

I'm tempted to drive there this weekend just for the mac & cheese - but everything I tried there is so damn good.
In Davis, there's a couple of spots for the stuff-yourself-silly-for-a-flat-fee sushi lunch - Nobu and Fuji. There's good Thai food in Davis too. I think one place is called Thai Recipes. Thai2k is pretty good too. If you want pizza, check out Woodstock's.
Il Fornaio (Italian/Embarcadero)
Hog Island Oyster Co. (Seafood/Embarcadero)
The Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton (French/Union square)
Masa's (French/Union square)
Angele (French/Napa)
All Season's Cafe (French/Calistoga)
French Laundry (French/Yountville)
Bouchon (French/Yountville)
Passion Fish (Contemporary/Pacific Grove)
Tarpey's Roadhouse (American/Monterey)
Caffe Napoli (Italian/Carmel)
Bouchee (Contemporary/Carmel)
That's all I can think of offhand, you can tell I like french food.

Bay area and Roseville. Check out the menus - pretty impressive. Good pastrami and corned beef. Desserts almost as big as Claim Jumper (ok, that might be stretching it just a little) and twice as good. I like the matzo ball soup.
They used to serve tongue, but I guess they didn't get much call for it. Guess I'll have to go to Brent's - but that's for another thread.
Need somewhere to stop on the drive up to Nor Cal? Check out Last Stage West, 6 mi. west of the 101 in Atascadero (SLO County). Not exactly vegetarian-friendly, and a limited menu, but good grub and atmosphere. Haven't been since the post-fire rebuild but I assume the food is still tasty.http://www.laststagewest.net/
