Good lord, if I NEVER have anything my mom cooks again, I'll be happy...
Every freaking dish had at least some ground beef in it, except Fridays when it was chicken-of-the-sea with mayo on white bread.
The only difference between her spaghetti and her goulash was the noodles. Same ragu, same ground beef...
Fish sticks, tator tots and Kraft Mac'n cheese were our delicacies.
To this day I have never once, ever bought any ground beef.
At least your mom wasn't so cheap she bought matzah crackers AFTER passover.
Birria is pretty good. I can always go for that. Other wise I'd have to say her best food was store-bought snack treats.
My Mom died when I was very young....
....actually that post above isn't serious.
She doesn't cook a whole lot, so my father is the Kitchen Bitch. He makes the world's best cheese fondue.
I don't know...let me ask my mom.
Hey Sticky, what's your best dish?
Actually, my mom makes lots of yummy Chinese food from scratch, most notably stewed meat and dumplings (she makes the skins from scratch). She and all the women on her side of the family inherited the cooking skills from my grandma.
I should cook more...
Applesauce cake with peanut butter frosting sounds like an odd combo but I could see it working. Apples and peanut butter aren't bad together. Want to try baking the most disturbing recipe we found in my box of grandma's recipes? It's one for chocolate sauerkraut cake. :31smile: Some of the other recipes are written in Finnish which screwed any of us if we wanted to make them. Unfortunately, the sauerkraut cake isn't one of those in Finnish.

My favorites were my moms meatloaf, I still can't make it as good as she did.
Her spaghetti is awesome and last, but not least, her chicken enchiladas. :6smile:
Gonna make a call later today and put in a request.
My pops makes a mean ass beef stroganoff
