So is anyone going to any form of Oktoberfest this year? Where are the good ones anyway? My dad took me to one a few years back in Long Beach i remember being really awesome. This time however id like to partake in the boozing lol.
Ive heard good things about the stuff that goes on in Big Bear, but thats quite a drive.
I am going to try and make it to Alpine Village this year with my wife and son. If not there then we will probably go to rip off Old World Village in HB
Alpine Village, next Saturday.
We did the local one in Elsinore yesterday and we'll probably go to the one in Old World. My husbands aunt is in town from Germany next month and she brought an official lederhosen. If I had had it with me in Vegas, he would have worn it to the Hof.
i went last night, ive lived in the south bay my whole life and have never gone, it was a good time but parking was ridiculous
when is Oktoberfest officially over? I thought it's mainly during the month of Sept
We usually hit up the phoenix club... Not a big partyfest like old world or anything.. Just a nice place to sit and eat and drink and take in the German atmosphere...
Already hit it up in Vegas.
The one in Munich ended on October 5th. All of the ones in So Cal run through the end of October.Quote:

My 2nd favorite is the Phoenix Club (already been 2 times this year), which features a good selection of German beer (Spaten Oktoberfest, Franziskaner, Koenig, Bitburger, and Kostrizer). There is also a full bar available. The atmosphere is really chill, the band is fun, the food is tasty, and you get to rip on Ducks fans since it's right next to Ponda Center. Sunday's are family days.
Alpine Village used to be good, but it kind of sucks now. They don't even offer their own brew any more. Sorry, but Bud & Coors are not Oktoberfest beers.
I've never been to Old World, but I hear it's like a frat party. Really dirty, and can get crazy. Not a good environment for kids (for those with families), but if you are a swinging single it might be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Too many "Bros's" and stuck up people at Old World. Alpine Village rocks, the atmosphere there is more friendly. But I've never been to the one in Big Bear...
