I've eaten at The Hat twice. Can't do that place. So much damn grease. I get sick if I eat too much grease.
watsons drugs in old orange has some excellent onion rings. top it off with a root beer float or old fashiond ice cream soda and im good
Never a big fan of onion rings. Onions=good, fried=good, breading/batter=good, prepared as rings=bad. I like the blooming rose type preparation.
Reason:
I always end up trying to take a bite of the ring and end up pulling out the onion from the breading/batter or the batter just falls apart leaving you with separated breading and onion on your plate.
The ones from Stone World Bistro were like this, Nice big pieces so hard to stuff all in your mouth. Cutting them the batter broke apart from the onion too easily and was a hassle to eat.
I only eat rings if someone else orders them.
I call the Chris and Pits onion rings, Onion Doughnuts!
