SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- The Oregon Liquor Control Commission's new interpretation of an old law has effectively banned judged competitions, home-brewing club tasting nights, and even the taking of a six-pack of home-brewed beer to a neighbor's barbecue.


I'd like to say that it's all hogwash, but if that law comes to fruition, then Oregon may never be the same.

OLCC is either full of **** or just a bunch of old prunes.

I've got family in Oregon and my cousin's husband loves brewing his own beer. He'll be devastated.

He planned their family vacation down here last summer around stopping at various breweries and pubs. Like the Wild Animal Park won out over the San Diego Zoo or Sea World because of the proximity to Stone.

What exactly does that 'interpretation of the law' accomplish?
Was the original statue put into place at the behest of some precursor brewery lobby to make folks buy brands? Really stupid law.
