i want to try it sometime i noticed theres a new one thats near downtown la near lil tokyo

I just had a Pinkberry yogurt.

Menchie's - good stuff
Red Mango - good stuff

This yogurt thing is going crazy...

A Golden Spoon opened here in SD right across the street from the recently opened Yog-Art in Hillcrest. I have yet to try the Yog-Art.
The Golden Spoon took over the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream location.
It's in the same mall where I get my afternoon Starbucks fix so I tried out the Mini serving Coconut, no toppings. It was good tasting and only $2.

There's a Pinkberry that's been under construction also in Hillcrest at Fourth and Robinson across from one of my regular eateries, La Vache Casual French Bistro. Waiting to give it a try.

Lastly a Red Mango just opened recently near my condo in Little Italy, it's right next to Filippi's Pizza Grotto. I haven't tried it yet either because I usually go to Cafe Zucchero's for a serving of Mango Sorbet and a Cannoli when I want a quick dessert.

I wonder if Penguins or TCBY will blowup again...lol.

Speaking of oldies but goodies, I miss Heidi's Frogen Yozurt!

Never tried Heidi's that I can recall.
There was a Penguin's close to my house in Hawaii when I was growing up and 4 of my high school crew all worked at the same TCBY for summer jobs so I ate a ton of free watermelon or pistachio yogurt back then. I'd be given quarts left and right.

I cut back heavily on frozen desserts since highschool, maybe I OD'ed on too much TCBY. I occasionally have had lactose problems so if I'm going to deal with the LI, I would rather eat cheese.

I loved Heidi's! Heidi's and Penguins were my two favorites as a kid! There was also one called Yogurt Delight in the Valley that I really liked.

Now it's all about Golden Spoon. 60 something calories for a mini. Nuff said.

I tried Pinkberry and Chipotle for the first time on the same day last year. That set a new record for my "Overrated" gauge. Never seen it redline before or since.

I can only say one thing...overrated. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but I certainly would not wait more than 10 minutes in line for it and it practically broke my bank account it was so pricey. I think this place is hot now, but its exapnding too much so the magic of "discovering" it will be gone. I remember Penguins Yogurt was hot in the 80's here in LA and now most of them have closed save for a few. Then in the 90's it was Krispy Kreme. Dare I say the parallel for the Oughties is Pinkberry? I dare.

PINKBERRY = overrated, overpriced, very average tasting frozen yogurt with nice colored decor and a bunch of toppings.
