Thread: Pup'n'Taco

For those of you that are bit more old school, you should appreciate this....

I was online the other day and somehow I came across some pictures from the old chain Pup'n'Taco. When I was a kid, this place was my favorite. Man they had the best hot dogs! I used to love that they had RC cola as well. One day they just disappeared (a traumatic experience for a young kid), but it turns out they were actually bought by Taco Bell.

Anybody else remember these places?

I sure do.

I loved the dogs, tacos, fries, and flavored slushes.

As a matter of fact, there is a Taco Bell close by me that recently closed down that used to be the Pup 'n' Taco I used to visit as a child.

I was thinking, it'd be great if someone re-opened it as a Pup 'n' Taco (if possible) but a big negative is that there is a Weinerschnitzel currently right across the street.

Yeah, we used to go there all the time when I was a kid. But I was a very finicky eater & one time my mom ordered a taco for me with just lettuce (because I didn't like the cheese on it). Well, we got to the park for our picnic & I eagerly bit into my taco, only to find that it had JUST lettuce, NO MEAT! I was upset, but my mom even more so! We went back to the Pup 'n Taco & my mom started yelling at the poor, stupid workers. I think she said something like, "If I ordered a hot dog with just mustard, would you just give me a mustard-filled bun?! I was so embarrassed, but she was right!

Grape and Cherry slushes were my all time favorite. We used to ride our bikes to the one on the corner of Norwalk Blvd. and South St. everyday on summer break for a nice cool slush. Happy days........... Robert, there is no negatives when it comes to Weinerschnitzel! Just say'n!

Sic, you missed my thread about three years ago which was dedicated to Pup'n'Taco hand puppets.

Pup n Taco was even mentoned in Fletch

I miss that place

Nice find there Ges....hand puppets are inherently awesome, but when issued by defunct 1970's Mexican/Hamburger combo chains, I feel they are taken to a whole new level.
