Those orange and yellow cherries that cost a little more than the red ones are called Rainier Cherries. I just picked up the first taste of the season and they are wonderful and well worth the extra $$.

Ranier Cherries
Send them my way. we have Bings at present but the Ranier are the best.................
these are the only kinds i like. the red (bing) ones are too sweet.
I am addicted. The crop this year are amazing. I accidentally got a regular cherry with min and the difference in taste is like night and day.
Last time I had a Ranier Cherry was at Pike's Market in Wa. Can't get much better than that. I will put these on the list right next to truffle oil and bacon.
I always pop my cherries before I eat them.
