    Default Real Chicago style pizza

So a few years back I went to Chicago for a Cubs game (Wrigley Field is the best stadium I've ever been) but while I was there I had my first taste of real Chicago style pizza. Does anyone know where to find some real Chicago deep dish pizza out there. BJ's is a joke that is not even close to what they have in Chicago, out here in Upland there is place called "Chicago Joe's" and they suck it's not Chicago deep dish at all.

Chicago Pasta House in Moreno Valley. This probably the closest you'll find to a Chicago pie around here.

How far you willing to go? Upland to San Diego?

The Pizzeria Uno est. 1943 claims to be the start of the Chicago Deep Dish. It's on the corner of Wabash and Ohio in ChiTown. Hands down THE BEST deep dish I've ever had.

I guess there is a franchise in San Diego off Friars Rd.

Taste Chicago in Burbank, owned by Joe Mantegna. Yes, that Joe Mangegna.

I'm actually more of a NY style fan than Chicago style, so take this for what it's worth...
It's Maxwell Smart's favorite place, and he's the one that took me here. The pizza was really good and it weighed a ton (for some reason, I equate weight with goodness for Chicago pizza) I almost dropped the pizzas as I slid them off the counter they were so heavy.

Not too much seating in here, but if you happen to be in North OC, you cna give it a try.

(just over the hill on Imperial East of Placentia Blvd is my 2nd favorite NY Pizza place, Mammalucco's)

Good call! Tony's Little Italy is really good, I think they are on par with Chicago Pasta House.

So I was watching TV with my son the other day. We were watching a show about Chicago Pizza. They went into detail about 4 of the original and best deep dish pizza places; Pizzeria Uno, Giordano's, and Lou Malnati's, and Ray's.

The interesting thing is that you can have Lou malnati's pizza flown in to you. They bake it, freeze, pack it in dry ice and send it to you. And it's not that expensive. One pizza is $40, but 2 is $60 or you can get 6 pies $100 including shipping costs.

Hmmm...Hockey playoffs, Kings away game...PIZZA PARTY!!!!

Here is the link to Lou's website:

Here is the link to order their pies online.
