How cool is this - the owner saw what I was buying and came over and engaged me in a long conversation about his impressive array of craft beers. He was suggesting this and that to me and once he realized I sort of knew a bit about good beers he pointed out that he had Chimay Tripel on tap in the deli section of his store. How could I resist. I ended up having a nice sit down for about 20 minutes in the middle of shopping, enjoying one of the greats in the beer world. I'll definitely be going back there since he said he carries the Chimay simply b/c he likes it and NOT b/c he sells much. It's like his own private beer tap except for those 'in the know'. Anyway, if you're in SLO ever, look for the Crossroads Liquor and Deli on Broad St. (it's on the way to the airport). Well worth it.
