Had Port's Mongo Double IPA on Fridee night. Huge on the Columbus hops, with an overall nice hop flavor (cascade and amarillo too) with just a slight malt backbone that makes this beast a hophead's delight. What I really liked was the imbalance of hop to malt, as any hoppy brew over 8% with too much malt drinks far too warm. This one is all hop and had an exceptionally dry finish.
Get this one while it is fresh! Blows the pants off Pliny the Elder IMO.

And on the Pliny vs. ???? Can't we all agree that Pliny simply IS a great beer? Better for some, less so for others. But in the big picture, it cannot be said that it's not a supreme beer.
