Had this happen at the bar on Saturday. I was at the Federal (nice place and the clientelle is quite nice) and my buddy asks the waitress what her favorite beers were. She responded with "hef" and whatever blueberry beer they had on tap.

I wasn't suprised in the least. I'd have been shocked if she said something like Ten Fidy.

He got a sample of the blueberry beer which I tried. Tasted like blueberry pie and nothing like beer.

Had a pint of Prima Pils which was okay but it's just not my style of beer. Pilsners remind me too much of what a warm crap beer like budlight tastes like. I had a bottle of Port Panzer a few weeks ago and it was similar. Good, but not great, IMO.

Had some Allagash Black and that's a solid beer. I think I've gotten burned out on Ten Fidy which is weird because I'm a stout/imp stout/IRS fiend. Ten Fidy is like drinking thickened soy sauce to me. I can have one once in a while but it's way too much for me these days.

    Was it this>>>>>?

The Pour House gets this quite a bit and the folks who drink it are folks who really don't like beer. They'll flat out tell you that, they don't like beer BUT love this crap. In other words, if he didn't have it, they wouldn't be there otherwise. So I cut him some slack - because I want to him to stay in business. But honestly, blueberry wheat ale people? For ****'s sake, just stick with Jamba Juice. When he pours a pint of this garbage the entire bar smells like a bakery - blueberry muffins. It's despicable stuff. Dreadful.

    Very solid indeed!

I had ten fidy once, and thought it was outstanding. I recall having it at Pizza Port Solano Beach. Tasted like an imperial stout blended with brown sugar, heh. I don't think I've bought any since they made them available in cans out here.

I'm burned out on the imperial stouts, kinda do that to myself every winter. I've still got quite a bit of them on hand, but will save them for next fall when the weather begins to cool down.

Over the weekend, tried The Bruery's Marron Acidifie. Pretty tasty. I can only imagine this getting better with a little aging. They were going fast from Provisions on Friday.

Caution. Only drink if you like the taste of oak. Very prevalent in this beer.

How did you like it? I have been continuously disappointed with Great Divide beers. Just had their Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti, and after 10 minutes of sipping on it, I was wondering why the hell it was so "hot" tasting. Finally looked at the label and realized they threw in cayenne? What the ****? Why, why, WHY would you do that to a chocolate oak aged stout? It's cool being experimental and all, but it just doesn't work sometimes!

Really liking Sierra Nevada's Glissdale. Picked up a 12 pack from target. Labeled as a Golden Bock. Has a nice floral hop taste combined with a light malt flavor. Good balance.
