What the ****? Why, why, WHY would you do that to a chocolate oak aged stout? It's cool being experimental and all, but it just doesn't work sometimes!
You know, I have the same feeling with Great Divide beers. I want to like them...but every one I've had, I walk away feeling disappointed. For instance the Hercules. I found that to be flat out bad. Oak Aged Yeti...it was just okay to me.

This 17th...like I said OAK. Hits you right away. It's a good beer if you like a full flavor oaked beer. Defiantly something you should give a shot...but don't say I didn't warn you.

I absolutely love oaked beer. Maybe the oak will be so strong in this one it'll cover up what is likely a lousy beer, heh.

I haven't had too many GD beers, however I was pretty impressed with their Claymore Scotch ale. That's a good one AFAIC.

Yesterday I had a couple pints at Ladyface. Their new one, Worker's Co-hoperative, IIRC is a belgian style pale ale with saison yeast. Was a bright golden color with a creamy head. Had a floral hoppy profile with some pretty vibrant juicy tones that reminded me of fruit juice. Liked this one and would get it again.

The other one was their cask beer called Naked Lady. I believe it's their IPA served cask style. Had some aggresive hops to it that gave me a nutty flavor reminiscient of pecans and walnuts.

    Azagthoth -

Think an amped up Stone Oaked Arrogant. Dry and oaky.

Hmmm, Lagunitas imp stout. I usually just see the Cappuccino stout and last time I had it, it was a bit underwhelming. If I see the imp stout around I'm buying one.

The Lagunitas Imp Stout is pretty good this year. BevMo had some a few weeks ago. Do not know if they still have any in stock.

Metolius, anyone? I had been avoiding it like a red-headed kid sitting on the bench as a subsitute player. I finally got around to buying a 6-er because, not only did it have some cool fishing images on the label, but it was on sale. so I just had to, ya know?

the subject in question that has a rainbow trout on the label would be the Dolly Varden IPA. it has a bit of a sweet nose. the body is mildly hoppy but dry with a rustic flavor to it. the finish is somewhat syrupy.

not much of a tough, harsh, heavily hopped up beer like most other IPAs are, but this one is an odd beer.

think I'll pick up Metolius' other beer, the one with a dry fly on the label.
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
