don't think so.

their pumpkin ale won't be released til next month. they just started brewing it this week.

here's how I think it works for a Citra DIPA at KRBC: it's so popular that they ran out sooner than expected the last time it got released (a couple of months ago?). so the folks in Kernville are limiting six 22oz bombers and two growlers per person.

that said, with my wench coming along, we may bring home a dozen bottles and 4 growlers of the greatest IPA, if not the DIPA, in the world (by my standards).

so, we'll see.

Deschutes No. 2 in Conflux Series

light colored body, heady white foam. flavor is somewhat robusty american styled ale with ahint of citrus. feel is crisp, smooth. aftertaste reminiscent of a lager.

Bad news. Bad bad news. KRBC ran out of the Citra bombers HOURS after they released it. Wow is right.

Good news though is we have been able to fill our four growlers with it.

They plan to make another batch at the beginning of next year. In the meantime, the folks are working to get ready for another batch of their 5th anniversary special after finishing the pumpkin ale process.

It is nice up here. So are the Southwest spring rolls. mmmmmm

I went up there in May, but was too early for the Citra. How I wish I were there now...

Stone 15th Anni imperial black IPA. Peculiar, this one. Nose of mild-to-medium hops and pine with a subtle underlying malt cocoa. Taste is about the same but the alcohol vapors just about bulldoze the hop profile during the middle. Now that my tastebuds have adjusted, the hops that give the pine essence (a hop fiend would know which hops these are, alas, I am not one) stick out like a sore thumb and seem to give a disjointed flavor profile that works its way through to the end which gives a subtle malty, cocoa and molasses finish. This bottle was bottled this month so that might explain the harshness. I have another bottle that I may age for a bit to see if the pine hops fade a little and the beer mellows out. Overall, glad I tried it but not something I would seek out again in the future.

mmmmmmmmm Ranger IPA... but you guys know this already.. nothing new
