I had some 11-11-11 last night. it was not bad enough for me to DP it. nor was it packing enough heat to throw me off.
if you previously sampled Dogfish Head's Chicory Stout, then you would have either liked or hated the same thing. The Chicory Stout packed more heat, fwiw.
just got the latest Citra release info from KRBC. tentative release date is day after Thanksgiving. 1 growler limit per person, but no bottles would be sold. if your liquor store carries other KRBC beers, chances are good that you will get some Citras there.
KRBC Brewpub Citra Release Details:
Friday, November 25th: Brewpub Release of Citra Draft and bottles - 6 bottle/1growler per person limit.
Saturday, November 26th: Brewpub Release of Citra Draft and bottles - 6 bottle/1growler per person limit
Sunday, November 27th: If there is any remaining draft or bottles, (doubtful) we will continue to sell until we are out - 6 bottle/1growler per person limit.
We will be releasing Citra in Bottles and draft. Draft will be at the brewpub only. We will be selling bottles locally and to our Southern California distributor. Please don't call the pub asking where you can find bottles - we don't know who is getting Citra in Southern California since we don't sell directly to our customers there. Your best bet is to call the retail establishment you are curious about and ask them. As far as local (Bakersfield, Ridgecrest and Kern Valley), if they carry our beer currently, they are likely to receive a limited supply of Citra bottles; still it would be best if you called them and asked.
Time to start making plans for Summer 2012. This is going to be epic.
