Thread: The recommend-a-beer thread

Arrived at the KRBC 30 minutes early after a nice drive from LA. 25 people already lined up waiting for the opening. Tickets were handed out for the bottles and a growler limit. By the time the place opened at 11:30, the line quadrupled. Word is that half the bottles have been held for the 2nd phase of release which would be tomorrow.

As of now, the line is still long for the growler fills, so at any rate, KRBC may run dry of Citras by early tomorrow afternoon. That said, if any of you plan on getting your hands on the DIPA tomorrow, go early!

Re: citra release, pliny the younger release, etc. - there is no beer on earth worth waiting in line for more than 2 minutes. And, at that, it better be because I'm behind some chick who can't decide on Blue moon or bud lite.

Agreed. There are beers out there I'd like to try, and I may hunt down a few, but as for buying tickets, waiting in line, camping out, lottery drawings, etc. that isht is for the birds. Too many damn fine beers out there readily available for the picking to jump through hoops for one special release.

Markus Maximus, Laurie thanks you so much for that prized bottle I came home with today, she is going to figure out a super special meal to make that that brew will compliment. Thanks Bro.

glad to hear that, woflus. has she tasted it? I didn't think it would be used for cooking, although it can, like any other beer good and crappy.. let me know how it goes.

nah, she's looking for a meal to have WITH the brew, not cook with it. she like hoppy beers, she wants it to be something special
