I think the SA Oktoberfest and Boston Lager are the only ones worth spending any money on. And that's only if there isn't any other good beer to be had - which is rare.

I know this is old hat for most people following this thread but I picked up and tried Arrogant Bastard for the first time this weekend. Holy crap this is a perfect beer.

I tried the SA winter pack in December --- All the beers are good. None of them are great or memorable though. I have never had the Oktoberfest. Next year I will pick up.

if you can find it, try the Oaked Arrogant Bastard.

Arrogant Bastard is good stuff. Not really one for the oaked version. I have a bottle of Double Bastard in the cellar and the couple bottles of Lukcy Bastard I've had have been awesome.

I think I am there now. I think I know what to expect from the different styles. And I enjoy most of them for what they are.

I also live very close to a very good brewery that I have been to a few times. (Just don't have much time or money to go out much.) It is called Hollister Brewing Co in Goleta, CA. They make a whole bunch of beers in house. And everyone I have tried has been good. If you ever come up to Santa Barbara you should check out this place. The food is pretty good for pub food, too.

Also since I live here I see and have tried a lot of Firestone Walker brews. I even had the Velvet Merlin Oatmeal Stout last night.
