I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
once I get around to inventorize my beers, I'll post a list. I know, I've promised this in the past, but I'm still going to do it at some point soon.
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
My first experience with Bigfoot was months ago and the bottle had some years on it. Maybe '07 or '08. It was deliciously malty with caramel, toffee, and butterscotch flavors. After that I heard on BA and elsewhere that fresh it was a very hoppy beer. Well, that is correct. I have twelve bottles marinating and I pulled one off and cracked it open. This is from a sixer I bought a couple weeks ago. Man, if I didn't know better I'd swear this was a DIPA, albeit a malty and kinda harsh one. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the bottles progress through the years. Hopefully they'll last that long!
anyone go to Tony's Darts Away today? the wench and I had some great beers.
Ballast Point Habanero Sculpin.
Russian River Supplication.
Ladyface Russian Lullaby
Sierra Nevada Ewe Boat.
Stone Mixtape Ale
Ventura Surf City Oil Pier Porter w/ Coconut in cask
Moylan ESB
Smog City Saber Toothed Squirrel
North Coast Old Rasputin
and...
Golden Road Otter Pop. yes, an otter pop made with orange and mixed with Point the Way and Hefeweizen. pretty sweet and awesome.
the Habanero Sculpin packed heat. so wrong on so many levels, yet enjoyable.
I liked the Ewe Boat the best. the Wench liked the Lullaby.
all in all, a good time was had. oh, and their BBQ pork sandwich was delicious.
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
AWWWWW, dude! Why didn't you say something? I'm right down the street from TDA! Their sausages are legit and their sweet potato fries are the best I've ever had.
BTW, I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one still drinking beer these days. Had a can of Golden Road Point the Way yesterday. Interesting. Not sure what hops they use but the profile isn't tropical or citrus. I was getting kind of yeasty, funky, biscuity, and almost skunky profile from it. Not bad, but not great either.
Timmy Nolan's in Toluca Lake is having a FW dinner this Thursday at 6. They'll have DBA, Velvet Merlin, and one other on cask. I plan on going so any of yous guys interested, let me know.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have two bottles of Ayinger Celebrator calling me.
FW has a new beer out. Wookey Jack. my wench brought home a bomber of it for me the other day.
Golden Road's PTW is indeed one funky IPA. it's enjoyable after a long day at work. have you had their Hefeweizen yet? they also had a new release today. Hudson Porter. on tap only. I need to stop by for a pint soon.
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
Eagle Rock Brewing has their beers out on the shelves now. if you're lucky, your local store has it. mine has Revolution XPA and Populist IPA available, so I grabbed those at first glance because I found them to be ****in tasty back when I attended their 1st anniversary event last year.
finished the Revolution just the other day. wow, still as crisp and good as I remember it. the Populist is waiting in the fridge, but right now is time for Trois Pistoles, thanks to mudfisher. holy ****, is that beer heavy and Belgian-y!
in other news, Blue Palms is having a beer market, farmers market style, on May 19. the list of beer ready for sale is quite impressive, and growing steadily.
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!
