I highly recommend the Alaskan Winter Ale. Such a great one to put down in the winter, and extra winter-like with the spruce tips used in the brewing process.
The Anderson Valley Winter Solstice was a bit of a letdown. All of their brews I have had thus far have been nothing but top notch - but this was the first letdown of theirs.
Agree with you on the Alaskan Winter. Drank quite a bit of that stuff last year. BevMo had some great pricing on it right after xmas and I'm hoping they'll do that again.Quote:

I just had a fantastic beer - Kaiser Octoberfest from Avery. It was on tap at a Lampost Pizza in Ladera Ranch. Not bottled as far as I know. This pizza place brews their own beers and always has some good guest beers on tap. I also had some Anchor Steam Holliday Ale on tap. I go to this place nearly every Sunday and am never disappointed in the beer selection. They have Stone Ruination on tap right now as well.
Kaiser Octoberfest was indeed bottled. I bought one for my dad... but he drank it without me. :(
