I live about a half hour from the brewery in Buelton. If you are passing through the area let me know and we can meet up for a pint or two. The unfiltered DBA puts the stuff you buy in the store to shame.

Will do ! That would be fun.

I am hoping that sometime in the near future I'll be able to get a couple of buddies in on a road trip to hit up the following:

    Anchor
    Rogue (brewpub in nor cal)
    Sierra Nevada
    Russian River
    Firestone
    Hair of the Dog

And many others, but Russian River and Sierra Nevada are the biggies on my list

By the way, how is the new Union Jack from Firestone? I have had no luck getting it down here.

I haven't tried it. When I do I'll let you know.

I actually don't get to the brewery very often (I'd like to stay married ha ha ha) so I when I do I usually go with the unfiltered since I can't get it anywhere else and it's my favorite......

Add Lagunitas to your list. They are not too far from Russian River Brewing. Check their website as the tasting hours are limited. Cool little tasting room.

Ah, yes.... thanks for the heads up there !

I finally checked out Hollingsheads on Fridee night. Pretty cool place, except the large crowd and hearing Ducks fans yelling "kick his ass Parros" !!! The employees there were most helpful and courteous.

I loaded up with a lot of good German brews. What I especially dig about the place is that you can pick out a single bottle from any 6 pack to buy individually. I don't even wanna know how much money I have blown in the past on lousy 6 packs, just because that is the only way a brew would come (as opposed to on draft or in a bomber).

I also managed to get my hands on a bottle of the newly released Angel's Share (Bourbon Barrel) from The Lost Abbey. Cant wait to put that one down

If I get some time once I arrive home from work, I'll make a list of everything that is in my fridge right now. A great assortment and variety of tasty brews

Since we retuned just yesterday from nine wonderful days on the Big Island of Hawaii, I will pay homage to a local brew that we enjoyed a lot!

    Just a heads up-

Islands (well at least the Montclair location) is now serving the Kona Pipeline Porter. Haven't had it yet, but its got a B+ overall on beeradvocate.com.

That would probably wash down the teriyaki chicken tacos quite well, or accompany their tasty onion rings

Monday night I went with Moylans "Ryan Sullivans Imperial Stout".

Go ahead and pass on this one, folks. Very uninspiring and bland. It wasn't undrinkable by any means or thrown off by anything in particular, just quite basic and far too subtle. I was hoping for some complexity, but there was none to be found.

By the way, the so called hop shortage hasn't affected the San Dimas Ranch Market. 10 bucks even, out the door with a 6 pack of Stone Ruination.

It's time to see Az grow up before our eyes. The days of Coors light are long behind him and he is now the Microbrew king!

Last night I had The Angel's Share from the Lost Abbey.

Absolutely outstanding and one of a kind ! A spectacular barleywine that is pretty easy to put down, and well too easy for that matter at 12% ABV. Well worth the $15 / 12 oz bottle.
