NO! NO! NO! Gotta have my peanut butter cups! Who is going to stop big brother from telling me how much, when and what to eat, drink, etc. Leave me alone! And leave my peanut butter cups the hell alone!!
(and yes, I will continue to blame hormones, slow metabolism, and a myriad of other things for me being overweight.)

that's BS anyway, if you go to the store to buy just the snack.

for instance, I went to Petco with a coupon for a free bag of dog food, valued at $25. waiting in checkout line, I spotted and grabbed a nice bar of Reese's peanut butter on the snack shelf. turned out I would have to pay $2-some for just that item.

I think it's better to shop for other things along with the candy just so that the taxes would thin out, so that you will not need to get sticker-shocked by a single item.
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!

Actually, it's kinda like Capitalism. This is all about reducing the amount of federally funded healthcare. See what happens when everyone hops on board the tax-the-smokers bandwagon? Now the chickens are coming home to roost.

I'm rooting for this now. Tax the hell out of junk food and wait for the fatties to revolt. Then maybe they can reduce the taxes on cigars.

Feel free to shoot me at frozen fury.

Just how big a tax would it take to stop people from buying junk food? Is another quarter or 50 cents or a dollar going to stop people from buying cookies or ice cream? I don't really buy any and it hasn't stopped me from being overweight. What's next? Tax anything with sugar, fat, or carbohydrates in it?

Shouldn't you really wait until after the season starts, when you're begging to be put out of your misery?

They'd tax the air that you breathe if it wasn't polluted and already taxing you with each breath.
