It's worth checking out. It's much better than Strickland's in Irvine. It is not nearly as good as real frozen custard from Culver's in Wisconsin.

My father in law does all the signage and collateral printing for, and is friends with the proprietor at this Rita's. We went to the grand opening a couple weeks ago. They were giving away full size free servings to everyone! This place blows away regular ice cream or frozen yogurt.

WOW, just came across this great thread but have to say growing up in England that's one of the few things I miss.
On a trip back a couple of years ago my Sis in law asked me if there was something she could get at the market for me........
Well...Yes I said, some dark chocolate covered digestives and some custard.
She said, really, you want custard, seems so ordinary.
But, but, Sis, you can't get good custard in the States.
So, for the next few days I was there I had hot custard on anything I wanted, every night.
That's before my Bro's and I hit the scotch.

Sounds good cold, must try it.

England,eh? Well if you get to the OC there's a Irish pub in Mission Viejo- Dublin 4. Very good fish and chips. Better than Ye Olde King's Head in Santa Monica.

have you tried cost plus world market? my sister-in-law spent part of her youth in england and she has a thing for cadbury flake and smarties which i've gotten there for her. they don't always have it, but what they do have is chocolate covered digestives and custard. i just bought those two things on my last visit. i got her the digestives which i packaged with some nice tea as a gift because she's a big tea drinker (with milk and sugar).
i got the custard for myself because my husband loves custard. cost plus has this:

    and this:

i use either of these when i want to make a quick trifle and don't have the time to make it homemade.

you can also get these things via amazon, but it costs more.
