Thread: Throwback Pepsi & Mountain Dew

Anybody try these drink yet. They use real sugar in them as opposed to the caro syrup they use now.

As a kid I liked Pepsi as being more peppy or fizzy, and i thought Coke was too sweet. Now my taste have 180'ed and i think the exact opposite of Pepsi and Coke.

After tasting the New pepsi, i kind of like it because it taste more like coke to me.

any thoughts??

I too make a 180 on the Pepsi and Coke. I hate it when they changed up a bit of the recipes and still churn out the same products, with a different flavor to it. kinda like Star Wars getting modernized.

Every soda tastes better with real sugar instead of corn syrup.

You should try the real sugar version of Dr. Pepper...awesome.

I've always preferred the Mexican Coke (cola, you effing junkies) over our Coke because of the real sugar content.

My thoughts exactly. The Mexican Coke is so refreshing when its ice cold on a hot day. The American Coke is just garbage. Coke Zero tastes better than it.

I'll echo the Pepsi/Coke 180º thing.

And I did actually have one of the new Mountain Dews. I noticed something was different but had no idea it was an intentional change in the recipe, I just thought I got a good bottle.

I hadn't heard about this. I had heard stories in the past about the Mexican Coca-Cola using cane sugar and tasting better. I'll have to try this out this weekend. From what I read, it'll only be available until June 13th though.

Are you guys talking about the "natural" Peksi they sell at Costco ? I like it. Still prefer the Mexican Coke (both kinds tee hee) a bit better though. I wish Coke would do the same thing here. I'd buy it by the case.

On April 20, 2009, Pepsi released a natural sugar sweetened version of its drink named Pepsi Throwback, along with Mountain Dew Throwback for a limited time, for veteran Pepsi drinkers to remember the original Pepsi formula before the sweetener was changed to high fructose corn syrup in the mid 80s. The drink will only be available until June 13, 2009.[1] Pepsi Throwback is not related to the recently-launched Pepsi Natural, which is made of 100% organic ingredients.

cane sugar sodas are my preference.
