Its got a C+ overall on beeradvocate. I don't take those ratings too seriously, but C+ for an American macro lager like that isn't too shabby at all. Ranks way above BMC.

I work for TJs. I write the beer order. Red strip biggest seller
Red Stripe? Really? It's not an awful beer, but I would figure Stella or Fat Tire would slaughter it.

I like the Duvel, but it's definitely a bolder flavor. Not for the macro brew crowd.

TJs in Granada Hills has had Duvel for a while now, right next to the red and blue label Chimays.

Surprises me too... Red Stripe is terrible.

At TJs, when I can't afford higher end beers like Duvel (read: always), I pick up Samuel Smith's Organic Lager:

    $2.99 but so good.

I'm a micro brew guy myself and Duvel didn't lift my kilt much. I just thought it was impressive to see TJ's carrying it, even though it isn't a go-to beer for me.

Watti - Sam Smith rules. Try their Imperial Stout if you haven't already.

Haven't tried it, no... I've just had the two varieties at TJ's, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for the Imperial Stout
