TJ's carries the organic lager, nut brown ale (one of my favorite browns), Winter Welcome (an absolute winter favorite) and the tadcaster bitter which is a good one too.

You can find the Sam Smith India Ale, Imperial Stout, Oatmeal Stout (just wondrous in every way) and the Taddy Porter at pretty much all specialty beer stores.

Sam Smith doesn't have a bad one out there, but the Imperial Stout, Winter Welcome, and Oatmeal Stout are by far their greatest offerings. Can't argue the prices of them either!

It's not a beer I'd buy on a regular basis either but it's worth trying if you like darker beers.

You know, I believe that my disappointment lies within how overvalued Duvel is on beeradvocate. I was expecting a noteworthy brew, but rather I could come up with 10 Belgian ales at point blank that I would grab before even considering a Duvel.

Personal preference I guess and I don't really blame you. Can you recommend me some of your favorites?

A lot of my favorites you won't really come across unless you have something valuable for trading with another beer connoisseur, but I will try my best to list my favorite brews that are readily accessible at most specialty beer stores:

Sierra Nevada - Pale Ale, Stout, Celebration Ale, Bigfoot, Harvest Ale
Russian River - Blind Pig, Pliny the Elder
Stone - Imperial Russian Stout, Double Bastard, Pale Ale, IPA
    Chimay - Grande Reserve (Blue)
AleSmith - Speedway Stout, IPA, Horny Devil
Unibroue - Trois Pistoles, La Fin Du Monde
    Allagash - Grand Cru, White
    Avery - Maharaja
GreenFlash - West Coast IPA, Imperial IPA, Double Stout
Lagunitas - Hop Stoopid, Cappucino Stout
Port - High Tide, Santa's Little Helper,
The Lost Abbey - Serpents Stout
Rogue - Dead Guy Ale, Chocolate Stout, Santa's Private Reserve, Imperial Stout

    Hope that helps !

By the way, all 3 Chimays are godlike but the blue is their best

A word of warning about the beer at TJs- I am not convinced that they take good care of it in transportation and stocking. I've had a few skunks from there.

Nothing that a few lemons or limes couldn't help.

New Belgium Brewery has this enlightened black ale that is really tasty. I wish trader joes was carrying that instead of fat tire. Anyone tried it? what'd you think?
