Call me crazy but Id like to try whale sometime. Believe it or not the canned japanese Teriyaki Mackerel is pretty good. I like Annas idea of eating with steamed rice and japanese pickles. You can also do a quick sautee using a little sesame oil; just enough to hear it through.

I've only ever eaten it as sashimi. It's almost beef-y. Annapurna's idea sounds great, and you could even put it on top of the steaming rice in a bowl and make a donburi.

I haven't had it for a long while but it is delish. They are usually packed in a sauce so you can just heat it and pour it over rice. I'd make a light curry on the side.
