    Default whale meat?

before I get lynch-mobbed, stoned and stampeded to death by some of you tree huggin hippie freaks for even slightly promoting the idea of killing whales to enjoy their meat....

I was given a small can of such by a co-worker who had returned from Japan recently. he suggested serving this with rice which sounds good, although he said he's never had whale meat before (his wife does).

anyone ever had some? what do you cook up to complement it?

what goes well with it: red wine? white? beer? light beer? water? milk? lowfat...?
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!

    :(

I would think less is more. I definitely wouldn't do red wine, even if whale seems like it would be a rich meat. Cook it with a little bit of salt and then serve it with steamed rice, miso soup, some Japanese pickles and a Kirin.

Post about your dining experience later. I'm curious.

    and you're evil.

Best thing is not to eat a lot of it. It's meat has the highest mercury levels.

Please post how it came out. Though I know canned meat is going to be precooked (and thus full of extra sodium), I am very interested as to how it tastes and its texture.
