Chuy's in Glendale. The place was kind of dumpy and the food went down hill the last couple yeas, but it was my hangout for years and the bartenders were all great to me. Their 10pm till closing happy hour every night didn't hurt either.
Cafe Figaro was awesome. Loved their Italian food and always got the escargot.
Hong Kong Kitchen in Palms. It was just a tiny little take-out joint (literally no tables)...but they had THE BEST chicken egg rolls I've ever had. I moved to West Hollywood about 5 years ago and kinda forgot about the place. About a year ago, I was driving by and craving an egg roll..and it was gone (not relocated, just gone). I don't even bother trying anymore...every other egg roll I've tried has been a big, fat FAIL in comparison. lol!![]()

I once worked at a company that was banned from having company dinners there b/c of an epic food fight instigated by one of our execs one night. Funny thing was one of our sales reps was family of the owners of the place. The place I worked was notorious for craziness in restaurants and bars, i.e. food fights. Yea, it was childish but man, those were the dotcom days. It was a lot of fun. I guess you had to be there.
this little place in Alhambra called Dumpling Master, they had the best ****ing dumplings ever.
J.P. Throckmorton's on Beverly Drive in BH. IITYWYBAHD?
Citrus on Melrose. (I guess you could toss Michel Richard on Roberston in too, although I have not yet been to the new Maison Richard on Melrose...)
Nibblers on Wilshire - I ate there a lot growing up as I lived very close by. Flannel cakes were the bomb. Thinking back, my brother and I must have been booted out of there by our dad at least 25 times for acting like jackasses.![]()
Flannel cakes? Product of the 90's, eh?
I just remember Bake It Again Sam in Toluca Lake which I just found out about maybe a year ago. Best. Bagels. EVAR! They closed their doors a few months ago and I don't think they are coming back. DAMMIT!!!! I swear they put heroin in their bagels.
