Mike's Pizza in Panorama City had the best damed garlic rolls ever. Came in an uncut square sheet and when you ordered em to go they were in a foil bag which kept the heat in. We moved out here in '76 and lived down the street from Mikes for about 10 years. Every saturday night my sister and me would walk down to pick up a pizza and my mom always gave us a couple bucks to spend on 45's @ the wherehouse next door...memories...sorry for waxing nostalgic.

I remember Mike's.

Those rolls were wonderful indeed.

The red sauce was quite good for such an inexpensive place.

I definitely miss Mike's Pizza.

Another nod to Nibblers.

Ships was also great.

When I was younger I remember my parents taking me to a smorgasbord and one or two buffet style places. Whether or not they were any good, I miss them. Hometown Buffet is NOT a suitable replacement. I'm not even sure the crap they serve is edible.

So far none of them... They were utter spam on a shingle...to put it mildly...

Hey, spam on a ball of rice (musubi) is a fantastic thing!

For some international flavor, here's 2 from Canada (from around 20 years ago):

- Mother's Pizza (a small chain-type pizza restaurant where the servers dressed in 1920's garb and the red/white table cloths were their trademark)

- Bonanza (still going as Ponderosa type stores in the US?)

Yup...i loved the bun tacos too....BUT taco bell made the bellbeefer....that was a bun taco...i know because i made then in the 80's!!!!
