Oooh I forgot to mention the Aviation. Another classic favorite of mine that's been rebooted into current mixology and for good reason: it's damn delicious when measured correctly.
Man, next time you are in LA we gotta go to Tiki-ti.

Best cocktails ever. Tropical themed for sure, but nobody can mix a drink like Mike Sr. - that bar just celebrated its 50th birthday, all in the same family. Never ventured away from their rum drinks myslef, and a great deal of the legendary tropical cocktails came from his Dad, who was pouring at the original Don the Beachcombers back in 1934.

It's a date. I've seen it on TV and thought I could get seriously plastered at that bar. There is a euphoric, otherworldly place where only the tropical drinks can take you and I like that place.

    Any pisco fans here?

I made a cocktail last night consisting of 2 oz of pisco and 1/2 oz domaine de canton, with 3 red seedless grapes, juice from half a lime and a 1/4 oz of simple sugar syrup muddled in the shaker, and two dashes of orange bitters. Tasty!

I love the taste, but my relationship with Pisco is mostly limited to lost nights and deft Pisco sours at El Pollo Inka with my wife and her best friend (both Japanese/Peruvian heritage) when we lived down by Redondo. I was always too chicken **** to use raw egg whites at home when trying to duplicate. But man, yours above sounds well conceived and f***ing delicious.

Yeah, I haven't graduated to the egg whites either. I go through phases - sometimes mixed drinks, sometimes "up" cocktails. Picked up a Hibiscus syrup from Monin last time I was at Hi Times in Costa Mesa. It's overly sweet, so a little goes a long way. It does however mix incredibly well as a vinaigrette salad dressing. My roomie swears by this Creme de cacao/ketel one/hibiscus syrup/heavy whipping cream cream drink, but it was way too heavy for me.

I've got all kinds of stuff to play aroud with here. Just went with a Flor De Cana light rum/Benedictine/touch of Passion Fruit juice from the Ceres brand - delicate and a light sweetness, not heavy at all. Kinda proud of that one!

I was on a caipirinha kick for a while, mostly to justify a bottle of cachaca I picked up. I figured I'd go all-Brazilian and add some VeeV, an acai berry liqueur. That's pretty damn good too - haven't made a straight caipirinha since.

Apparently Santi and I have similar taste so I am just going use and add to his list. Hope you don't mind. If you do, I will buy you a cocktail to make up for my indiscretion.

I'm old fashioned. Give me a dry martini, I'm a happy boy. Dry and dirty. Very dirty, please.

    Also:

Greyhound. This or a Salty Dog.
Bloody Mary. Yes! Or a Michelada. I LOVE Micheladas!
Gin Fizz. Sloe Gin Fizz, please. Lots of them. I find it extremely difficult to get a good one in LA. Any suggestions?
    A good Mojito. Indeed!
Tom Collins (knew a guy by that name once). Vodka Collins for me.
    Some additions:

    Crown and Ginger Ale.
Vodka/Soda with lots of lemons, limes, or a splash of cranberry.
    Wild Turkey 101. Straight up.
    Snakebite.
Jameson with a pickle juice back. Seriously. Try it sometime.
Recently my friend made us cocktails with Whipped Cream Vodka, pineapple juice and possibly orange juice. It sounded disgusting... but was AMAZING!

DAMN! I can not stop drooling nor can I get the lyrics to Escape (The Pina Colada Song) out of my head now. Obviously, I have issues.

I like my jack and cokes or long island ice teas, but if im in a fruity mood it has to be a cambodian.

St. Germain is the witch's s***. I like it simply with gin and orange bitters on rocks and a splash of soda, but if in a more creative mood you can check out Jamie Boudreau's incredible SG cocktail database here. The Monk's Evolution is a personal favorite.
