Roasted vegetables (eggplant, yellow squash, red peppers) brushed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, baby spinach and herbed goat cheese on crusty olive bread.

I really don't think grilled cheese gets enough credit these days. That with tomato soup is still an awesome lunch. On a cold rainy day, there is nothing better.

Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, that was a standard lunch in many kids' homes every fall/winter.

And K&T, there's nothing more devilishly delicious than a ham and swiss dipped in egg, deep fried and then sprinkled with powdered sugar! When I had an annual pass to Disneyland, I used to go once a month just to have lunch at Blue Bayou and people watch.

I gotta agree. I've only had it once, but it was amazing. It's one of those things that is so good, you know those who believe in God have to consider it a sin.

The three cheese monte cristo at Disneyland is the best Monte Cristo I've ever had.

That being said, my latest favorite is the San Carlo Special from San Carlo Deli on Mason in Chatsworth. It's worth the drive.

Monte Cristo. The best one is at Disneyland @ The Blue Bayou inside Pirate's Of The Carribean.

    Liver Pat'te @ Lee's Sandwiches

Another vote for Disneylands Monte Cristo. YUMMMMMM.

And another grilled cheese (or grilled ham and cheese) vote. But I'm weird and like grape or strawberry jelly on top of it.
