Homemade burgers with grilled red onion, bacon, and blue cheese. And at least a few Lagunitas IPA's to help them go down.

tonight: escargot, Camembert, Brie and some ciabatta bread I got on sale at whole foods.
If you make it out there there is a great little sushi place called Angotei (675 Paularino Ave) right in front of Mitsuwa. I miss not working near it to grab lunch there at least once a week.

thanks for the rec. I'm actually looking for a new place. the one I used to go to here in downtown hb changed owners and the quality's seriously dropped. douchey service and they didn't even know what flying fish eggs were (not the same as smelt or salmon eggs!).
I've been looking for a place that doesn't put cream cheese, mayo, eel sauce and/or fried stuff on almost every sushi item on their list.

tonight: think I'm just gonna head down the street and get a carnitas burrito.

Grilled chicken, cole slaw and rice. Not very imaginative I know but one of my favorites.

there's a few. the one I'm talking about is tuna town. granted, you're not going to find authentic there, but it was pretty good and I used to get hooked up with off menu stuff because one of the sushi chefs was super kind... it used to be co-owned by David silveria but he sold his share to his ex-wife and now there's no particular head chef nor are the menu items even the same. I heard sushi on fire is good but that's coming from my neighbor with uh... simple tastes (he drinks coors light!) so...

there's a place down the street on beach blvd called matsu that I want to try but even one of my richie rich Japanese friends said she heard it was pricey.
