i've got a ton of marrons glacés (candied chestnuts) that my mother in law and auntie got me. it's a winter/holiday treat. that's gonna be my dessert.

used to roast chestnuts when I was a kid but haven't had candied ones before.
they're both good! my parents used to roast chestnuts in the fireplace when i was a kid and then whenever we go to europe, you can buy them on the street in the winter.
i made candied chestnuts a couple years back. it's a lot of work. because of that, it's expensive to buy them from a store or confectioner so i only get them as gifts.
between the two though, i prefer them roasted because i don't have much of a sweet tooth.

those look delicious, fisch. since it's almost 80 degrees here in the middle of january, we're grilling burgers in the backyard. so bacon, avocado, chedder, lettuce, tomato and sliced onion with 1/3 lb patty on an onion bun.
