What's a good steak restaurant?

If you're in the South OC, Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse is excellent! It's in the middle of Trabuco Canyon, half way between Cooks Corner off Santiago Canyon Road and Rancho Santa Margarita.

Your zip code unbeknownst I'm inclined to say Morton's or Fleming's but if you don't want to spend that much, grab a nice cut from Bristol Farms, Whole Foods or the Beef Palace in Huntington Beach. A good steak is hard to mess up on the grill.

In this economy that's the route I prefer.

I'm partial to Mastro's in Beverly Hills. Avoid Friday and Saturday unless you like waiting. The veal chop I've had is like heaven on earth. The lobster mashed potatoes are great too.

Forgot to mention they are hockey friendly too.

there's a mastro's in orange county also (south coast plaza area). and i have indeed heard it's a good place.

i can't get behind morton's. they overcooked my filet. sides weren't anything special. maybe the locations are different. the one i went to was in downtown LA for an anniversary dinner.
