Boneyard Bistro in Studio City on Ventura and Woodman. Great food..a bit pricey but worth it. Top shelf alcohol and lots of beers on tap. The bartenders are the most knowledgable and bartenders ever. I go there at leadt once a month.

So many good suggestions here. I miss Bar Hopping. :(
I used to do that in the Bay Area, things are much less spread out there.
I have friends who live by the Back Abbey and they swear by it as well. I haven't been there yet. My favorite newer place w/ the best burger I've had thus far is The Trippel in Playa Del Rey. Very, very small. Not a huge beer selection but everything is great. A few beer, cider or wine cocktails as they don't have a full liquor license. Their Trippel burger is insane. Its a mix of aged angus, pork and duck confit. Comes w/ an apricot jam and some greens. I ask for it w/ the pretzel bun though. The first time I had it I started laughing half way through my first bite it was so good.
If you're familiar w/ The Hudson House in Redondo Beach, its the same owner, Brooke. She is actually on Top Chef Seattle right now.

Well I usually ply the bartenders with cookies, so I almost always get a few free beers, no matter where I go.
The Varnish, because it's a speakeasy.
