Guinness Stout -- this is a go to pretty much anywhere ya go. Roasty, but the nitrogen makes it creamy. It's like a strong cup of coffee.






Guinness Black Lager -- imagine Guinness' roastyness but with a little less body and cream. Since it's a lager, it's lighter in terms of "weight" so it's a ton more drinkable - you can have more of 'em without getting full.







Kostritzer Schwarzbier -- it's billed as “Germany’s Black Lager” and that's all ya need to know, son! It's pretty much a perfect example of my favorite style of beer.







Rogue's Hazelnut Brown is good, too. As is Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. The browns are maltier, not as roasty as black beers. And the "nut" styles are sweeter.

Speedway Stout from Alesmith.

12 percent ABV and so good. This was my first craft beer stout and still my favorite. Like any good stout, a strong coffee and dark chocolate flavor from the start.

Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout! Hard to get but worth the effort.

Lagunitas Imperial Stout and Black Marlin Porter.....yum!

Ha a Samuel Smiths Imperial Stout this past weekend for the first time and I was delighted. Also had a funky smokebeer last night, Aecht Smokebeer, that wasn't half bad.

Dale Bros California Black Beer is right up there.
