Goose Island Bourbon County Goose Island

The first sip is usually intense, lots of flavor, you will need to take a few more to start tasting the different flavors. You will taste the smokey bourbon barrel taste first then get into the some chocolate.

Rogue Hazelnut Brown and Moose Drool are up there for me.

Both are smooth, a little smokey, with a hint of coffee and chocolate as well. Some might find it a bit sweet though.

Go to the Recommend a Beer thread and you'll probably get a better answer.

Too hard to pick one, and you would need to define what you mean by a dark beer. Lager, Belgian, Porter, Stout or Sour all could be considered dark, or have variations which are definitely dark. Bourbon County is certinly a great choice, and one of my favorite beers, but that is the great thing about craft brews, I don't have to settle for just one beer, or even one type.
