I like hitting up Big Daddy's burger place on California in Pasadena on the way to the train, or go to La Grande Orange and have a few cocktails at Del Mar Station. The Penalty Box is always good too.

The Palm. They have a reasonably priced bar menu if you're not looking for the fancy. The bar is always casual and full of regulars and people going to the game while the dining area is still hoity toity. Super friendly staff. I've become friends with the barkeeps over the years and they're all pretty rad. I barely ever have to order a drink. They see me walk in, they just start making it. Hard to part with that kind of service
I hit up the Los Angeles Brewing Company on Saturday. Located on Broadway between 7th and 8th, the place is huge and has 100 beers on tap. Food was very good, and the place deserves better business than it is currently receiving. Nice coupon offers with a Yelp check in.
El Cholo is my new favorite. Some of the best Mexican you will find anywhere, great Margaritas too. Thanks to Birdman for recommending it!
The one by Staples Center. There's another one?
