I like to make my own too.
It's not really hard. There is, obviously, peeling and mashing of the avocados, and then you can add stuff to the mix.
I like adding tomato pieces, cilantro, and pieces of peppers.
:D
Trader Joe's has a guacamole kit too, which has all the ingredients in a bag, which you mix to taste. Not quite as quick as prepared, but saves you the time of searching for all the ingredients.
why buy pre-made?
Are you kiding that stuff has no spice to it. I will just buy 2-3 avocados and a packet of the guac mix. i then add chopped onions and tomatoes. I think it is better than the store bought, or mix my recipe with the store bought.
Well making your own guacamole goes without saying. I will always do that, unless I am in a jam, running late to a party, and need to bring guac, then I'll get it from Trader Joel's on the way.
I never use any packets of mix in my guacamole because there is absolutely no reason to. Just avocadoes, and whatever seasonings and vegetables I want to use from my kitchen.
Thou shall not incorporate mayonnaise into guacamole should be the 11th commandment. All that do shall go directly to the firey pits of hell!
Who the F puts mayonnaise in their guac. WTF.
OMG mayonnaise in guacamole?!?!?! that's DISGUSTING. we usually just use avocados, tomato, onions, lime juice and salt. SO GOOD.
Guacamole is gross.
