ah! i'm jealous. another guy i know had some and posted a pic of it on a music board i frequent. trying to get the deetz on a closer joint to hit up since he lives in the next city over. when i don't feel like going to my usual place in lake forest, i just make it myself, but it takes a bit of effort. i'm starting to seriously crave the stuff now though!

what else, besides mexican food, would you eat guac with, silly?

Sandwiches! Avocados/guac is the equivalent of the nectar of the gods on a sandwich.

You'll probably think I am wierd and joking, but try A-1 and guacamole on pancakes. Actually pretty good!

i'll eat avocados on a sandwich but not guacamole... i prefer the texture of whole slices of avocado in that case. and i don't even like pancakes unless they're the european kind--crêpes. in that case, i've made a savory crêpe with avocado, bacon and brie.

I mean if it comes like that in the picture in a restaurant. In the past I would have told them not to put it on when I ordered. I didn't used to like sour cream either. Now I'm down to just picking off the pico de gallo.

you know, i don't usually get sour cream on mexican food either. i don't dislike it, but i don't love it enough to get it. mexican food is not always the healthiest stuff, so i try and cut out the stuff i'm not as crazy about so i can still fit into my clothes. also not crazy about pico de gallo, but i'll eat it if it's there.

the three things i normally order are any one of these: carne asada fries, carnitas burrito, carne asada burrito. once in a while, i'll get a fish taco. where i frequent, sour cream and pico de gallo never automatically come with those, so i'm ok.

What is your usual place in lake forest? I am not a stalker just like good mexican food. I go to Albatros because by the time I figure out what to eat everything else is closed.

Olamende's is pretty good.

it's albatros! i've only gotten carne asada fries there. if i want a carnitas or carne asada burrito, i go closer to home at las barcas in HB. it's just down the street and their carnitas is SO GOOD. the meat melts in your mouth. unfortunately, they don't have carne asada fries and the only good places i've tried are albatros and sombreros (in rancho bernardo-SD). alertos in HB/westminster has carne asada fries also, but they're crap. i don't go out of town as much because my kid gets car sick so i've been looking for a closer place to me that makes them well.
