lets meet up for lunch Mo!
mmmm. i shared half a chicken yesterday and it was delish.
i frequent open sesame in long beach often, it's closer and has more variety. just as delish.
I gotta try this! Might go to the one in Anaheim later today. :)
SloMo, I would think the way they wrap the falafel and shawerma chicken sandwiches pretty tightly with the foil paper that it would be good for grubbing in the sled if you guys have to do that sometimes. It's a pretty clean eat if you just peel the foil back, not to mention that it's good healthy food and probably wouldn't weigh you down as much as cheeseburgers and fries. I never found it greasy at all, but I don't how they do it in Anaheim. Maybe it's different--or just the association makes it seem greasy. :3smile: And the bonus is that when your sitting on some perp's chest you can land the death blow--a big menacing blast of garlic breath. Game over. Who needs pepper-spray?
To be honest, the last time I had Zankou Chicken was back when I worked in Pasadena around 1999 or 2000. All the grease and the garlic just did not do it for me. Maybe it has changed and I might try it the next time I work out west.
As for eating in the "sled" that is an art in itself. I have done that many times during my 13 years and it doesn't get any easier. Most of the time I end up wearing more of the food than I eat. Nothing like talking to someone while you have a big glob of guacamole or ketchup on your uniform and don't notice it.
As for pepper spray, that is so like yesterday's equipment. It's all about the taser now. DON'T TASE ME BRO!!!!!!! :busted_blue:
I was in the Anaheim location as well....the chicken or tritip plates are always incredible. Never had a bad meal and have easily eaten there at least 50 times.
I go to the Anaheim location as often as I can, It used to be regular when my mom was still alive (she lived right around the corner)
And yes - damn great chicken
