Anyhow, what should one get on one's first visit to this fine establishment?

It's actually slow-food wrapped and masquerading as fast-food. I think that's part or the appeal.

The latest issue of LOS ANGELES MAGAZINE has a huge article on the founder of Zankou. It's about how it started, him murdering his mom, aunt, and then himself and the aftermath. It's on the 5 year anniversary of the murders. Super interesting!

The rotisserie chicken and/or a shwerma.
Zankou roasts you a nice crispy chicken with good seasoning.
Since I'm not local anymore when I do go I go nuts and get a whole chicken and a falafel plate.
